I know not many people use Dscaler5 as their video codec anymore, but I find it the crispest and best codec for fast action and sport. I thought this info might help other Dscaler users.....
After a clean install of RC1 I noticed that I was getting video combing (i.e. interlacing) when watching recorded tv using Dscaler5 - something I never noticed before and didn't notice during live TV. After much agonising and uninstalling/installing of different versions I realised that it occurred when the VSFilter (for subtitles) was activated in the Movies Post-Processing section. Now I simply use ffdshow to handle my subs and everything is great!
Another problem I used to have with Dscaler5 was the audio would disappear when skipping (fwd or back) through live or recorded TV - sometimes it would return after 5-30 sec, other times it would never come back. This would happen about every second skip event. After living with it for ages I've only just realised it happens when AC3Filter is the audio codec in use. Now I use ffdshow for audio and the problems gone.
