I think that I may have found a bug with regards to the stuttering that a lot of people are experiencing. I have tried using the built in i3-540 HDMI output & optical spdif output with every codec. I even took out my tv card and upgraded the video to Radeon HD 6450 and have experienced the same problem.
My PC is plugged into an Onkyo TX-NR809 receiver that allows to show an overlay display on screen of what the input is and output is. The overlay stays up for about 5 seconds, I have taken a little video of the problem. It appears that Mediaportal with the several different codecs will drop the digital output randomly and cause terrible stuttering. I have taken the exact same MKV file and used MPC-HC 64bit player with digital output without any problems.
I am more than willing to help with bug tracking to fix the problem but I'm not sure where to begin because MediaPortal isn't crashing or reporting errors.
The wmv video attached shows the problem roughly around 30 seconds near the end.
Additional info: Codec Pack is Sharkey's 3.16 32bit & 64bit.
Audio Codecs Used: FFDshow, MPC-HC, LAV, MS DTV-DVD, Monogram AAC Decoder
