DTS Audio Questions (1 Viewer)

Hi all, sorry for jacking this thread, I have an odd issue with DTS on my Windows 8 machine.
If I go in to the sound properties on windows and test DTS playback, I can hear each of my speakers play white noise, one at a time.
If I play any media, such as a DTS 5.1 test video, the rear surround sound is played through the front surround speakers.
I am getting very frustrated, I have tried different codecs, played with options, used different players and they all do the same!

Anyone have any ideas?

The DTS playback test (windows sound properties) should not play back white noise, it should play a test tone (ding ding dong), if it plays noise, or a distorted tone, then that format is not supported.
