Thanks for the info nd4spdbh.
Are FFdshow audio and video two seperate codecs which I can register independently?

My only option for h264 and vc1 are DXVA acceleration and ffdshow dxva have been working great so far.
I really don't want to break this. But I would love to properly passthrough the DTS core from the DTS-HD stream.

Maybe I can take the ffdshow audio part from tryout beta 7 and register it manually?

Old FFDshow is not capable to decode DTS-HD.

Oh.. OK I really don't need to "decode" the stream but maybe it needs to "decode" something to find the DTS core from the DTS-HD (I have no clue how this works).

I did a little tinkering to see if i could install say the beta 7 audio codec and the latest video codecs, i came up with nothing, but i honesly didnt try hard as once i got it working with coreavc i said sweet! plus i like core avc better, but thats just preference.

Ill try and see if i can play around with it a lil more :)

yes, but it is capable of extracting the dts core out of dts-hd / ma properly... whereas the later versions of ffdshow are not able to do so.

Interesting. I will try with beta7 and mpc dxva codec to see if the results are as I want. Then I might dig more into get ffdshow to work both with video and audio. Thanks for the tip.

the big question is can you run BOTH the older ffdshow audio codec, and the newer video codecs together on the same pc? i guess maybe installing them to separate folders?

    it just came to me

im using the MPA MPC audio decoder to take the core out and send via SPDIF

u need to doubleclick on or type regsvr32 MpaDecFilter.ax in the MP directory..go into the mp config setup app and select spdif and choose it in the audio codec setting in Videos

    I just realised something yesterday.
I use latest SAF5 with ffdshow dxva and ffdshow audio set to passthrough for DTS.
If I use graphedit to play the 20gb Bluray .m2ts file (from mounted bluray iso) DTS core is pass through perfectly from the DTS-HD stream.
If I play the same file either through Moving Pictures (which can start blurays but without menu) or by manually choosing .m2ts file through My Videos it is just flickering a black screen and then stops.

Sometimes DTS is lit up on my amp and I see about 1 second of the video and then it stops. So this is a MePo problem it seems.

Anyone with the same experience? I will check my logs later and can post them if needed.

Here are my logs. I cannot see any error it only seems like the movie is started and then stopped again. I have mentioned it before, but if I disable DTS passthrough in ffdshow it starts and I can then change audio stream to Dolby Digital for example and get DD passthrough without any problems.

If I render the graph in graphstudio it works even with DTS passthrough without problems. So there seems to be some issue with MePo and maybe not the codecs.

    Any clues?
