I have my PC set up in the living room, using a monitor for PC usage & the tv for HTPC usage.

When I'm surfing the net or using the PC occasionally my other half decides to watch or listen to something using it, that's not an issue as such as the pc can handle it well, but I'm having an issue with using the remote.

Basically when I make the monitor 'active' by clicking on something on it or typing in a browser etc, it takes control from the tv, meaning I have to move the mouse over onto the tv screen & click it before she can use the remote.

Does anyone know of any possible solutions to this? Software solutions or workarounds I mean, lack of any cash means a dedicated HTPC is out of the question!
