    Hi,

I am thinking getting rid or m'y floppy-dtv s2 and m'y nova-CI to get a new dual tuner dvbs2 card that would décode simultaneously 2 channels using the same pcmcia astoncrypt which décodes 2 channels at a Time.

Any recommandation ? Preferably pcie or usb?

    Thank you

    Hi DjeC64

Your FloppyDTV already decodes multiple channels at the same time - are you *certain* you want to get rid of it? Honestly the only other real options you have at the moment are Technotrend budget series or a Digital Devices arrangement. If you really want to get rid of the FloppyDTV then I'd take it - PM me and let me know how much you're wanting for it.

The floppy-dtv works fine at decoding 2 channels but only on the same transponder. However noW i am streaming to m'y secondary tv for the kids. So i néed a dual tuner that would be decoded by the same cam.

I am wondering if digital devices ciné S2 with Ci module CAN do that ?

It seems that you are leaving in Australia . Won't it be top to ship it there from Belgium?

Then your only choice is the Digital Devices cards.

Yes it can. One channel per tuner on any transponder. So with a Cine S2 you can decode 2 channels on any transponder. You can't decode more than one channel on the same transponder without using both tuners.

Yes, I live in New Zealand. I've bought cards from Ebay.de and the shipping cost was 16 Euro with DHL - I expect the cost would be similar from Belgium to New Zealand. I'm happy to pay up to 20 Euro for shipping.

    I don't hold that against you! :)
The Australia and New Zealand flags are very similar - the only real difference is that the Australian one has an extra big star.

Ok once i have a New setup working , i Will PM you.
That would be great; I look forward to it.

    Best regards,

But isn't there an issue currently, where you can only decode channels on one tuner, but not on both tuners at the same time in MediaPortal?

Nô issue spookie. That works perfectly for me.

Spookie, is it what you are talking about Supported TV Cards - MediaPortal Wiki

mm1352000 on the wiki it says Ciné S2 CI module can only descramble 1 channel at a time. Is it with new module of CIné S2 V3 ? WHat is the status in MP?

To be very clear: *each DD tuner* can only decrypt one channel at a time. However, the CAM is shared by all connected tuners so multiple channels on a single transponder can be decrypted with a single CAM *if you have more than one tuner*.

The Cine S2 has 2 tuners. Each tuner can decrypt one channel. This means you can decrypt 2 channels simultaneously... but you need to use both tuners to do this even if the channels are on the same transponder.

This DD implementation is a completely different implementation to the FloppyDTV where you can decrypt multiple channels *on a single transponder* with one tuner and one CAM.

Both the DD and DE limits are in the drivers - there is nothing we can do to improve the decrypting abilities.

WHat is the status in MP?
As far as I am aware MP supports the complete capabilities of both DE and DD tuners as described above. I do not own either of these tuners though, so I can't test this.

    mm

PS: just to make things more confusing :)D), the DD tuners can still timeshift/record multiple free-to-air channels on a single transponder. The limit of one channel per tuner only applies to encrypted channels.
