Synopsis::

If I'm watching a show and have a recording scheduled on another channel Mediaportal will change what I'm viewing when the scheduled recording kicks in. I'd like to keep watching the current channel and record in the background. Changing the priority on the two tuners (of my dual tuner card) has no effect.

Have you mapped the channels onto both tuners?

Within the setup application, select 'Television' then' TVChannels'.

On this page select the TV cards tabbed pane and make sure that for every tv tuner MP recognises you assign all the channels that tuner can recieve.

Might not be this of course...but its worth checking

Yes, all channels are mapped to both tuners. I have no problem watching one show and recording another, it is just annoying to be watching something and have a scheduled recording kick in and change what I'm currently watching because I have to use the remote to change back to what I was watching in the first place.

A possible solution might be to set up one tuner for watching only and the other for recording only. Don't know for sure but might be worth a try.

Try using the Combine button in setup.

My 2 STBs (DirecTV) do the tuning and are connected to the PVR500 inputs via s-video. Isn't "Combine" for duplicate channels that were the result of running autotune on multiple cards? Thanks.

If it will make a difference, It will be available for selection.

If it is greyed out then no, it will do nothing.
