I have this issue in my music database, for some artists for which I have multiple albums, when I browse the artists in list view the artist with the multiple albums appears multiple times in the list. Each one of the duplicates, when clicked on, shows all of the albums of that artist, but the artist appears multiple times in the artist list.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Make sure the Artist and Album Artist tags are 100% identical on all tracks for every album of that artist, than update your music database. It's case sensitive and any extra space character will matter too. If your troublesome artists' albums has collaborations on some tracks, it's better you use the Album Artist tag to sort the list with or you will see one entry for each different collaboration.

    For example:
De La Soul (artist tag) - De La Soul (album artist tag)
De La Soul Featuring MCA (artist tag) - De La Soul (album artist tag)

The Stooges (artist tag) - The Stooges (album artist tag)
Iggy Pop & The Stooges (artist tag) - The Stooges (album artist tag)

It's best to use a tag editor with which you can select several albums at once. MP Tag That is good, so is iTunes (IMHO).
