Hello,

I have recently converted to MediaPortal after running MCE 2005 for close to a year.

I have been having an issue with recorded TV shows. I can schedule and play back recordings fine, but multiple entries are being created for each show, all with the same date. The same video plays regardless of the entry.

I have read posts relating to database issues, how can I clear just the recorded TV show tables with having to reinit the whole database? I don't want to wipe out the channels, now that I have the EPG and descriptions customized to my liking.

If there us a SQL query I can run to just wipe the recorded shows and schedule, I can re-establish the schedule. Why not add the metadata from the EPG to the recorded show and read it back from there when browsing the list of recorded shows?

Thanks for the help! I like MediaPortal and will stick with it, I would really like to get this resolved.

:D

You could try:

If there us a SQL query I can run to just wipe the recorded shows

delet e from recorded

and schedule

delet e from tblPrograms

hrm...remove the space from the first word in the query
as the forum seems to have an issue with it.

BTW, I would backup your database before trying it :)

HTH,
patrick

    Me too,
This is about the only bug I have left......

The 2 entries in the recorded tv section for a single show are not identical, they look smothing lke this:

entry 1 - The West Wing
    entry 2 - The_West_Wing_20070215730

    Anybody have any ideas??

    Cheers

    Jamie

    Hello,

I deleted the entries from the tables as the post suggested. I recorded a couple of sample shows, when I look at recorded TV, I see the name of the show with a duplicate name, cannot tell which is which. Looking at Scheduled recordings shows *when* they were actually recorded. This may actually be the place to look in order to play back recorded shows ...

The shows that I typically record are aired monday though friday, will post back laster in the week to see if better results are achieved.

FYI, I had set some of my paths to point to shows that were recorded with Media Center. I removed these paths via the SQL tables, when trying to remove them from the setup program, a fatal error would occur. If you are interested in the details, I'd be happy to send them.

    Thanks for the help,

    Bob

I haven't deleted anything from any tables yet. But I have carried out a couple more recordings.

Interestingly, only those that are part of a series seem to suffer from this issue. One off programs don't. By series, I mean those that may be identified as such by the epg (eg, Lost). A documentary and cooking program are fine.

That's exactly the same as I get!

Common themes usually means there should be a way to resolve it. Looking forward to getting this one sorted.

Me Too! But it does not do it all the time sometimes I just get one listing with the correct info. I have been trying to work out what the trigger is eg if I start watching the program while it is still recording and rewind it back to the begining, or if it is back to back recordings or something like this, but i have not been able to definatevely figure out what the cause is.
