I just recently installed a DVB-C card (a Mystique CaBiX-C2, which should be identical to a KNC ONE TVStation I think) in my HTPC and finally got some time to configure it and see if it works with MePo.
For a while now I'm trying to get the TVService to find the digital channels.
The TV Application delivered with the card has no trouble finding around 360 digital TV channels (SD and HD ones, all as expected, so the signal should be fine), while TVServer is barely managing to find 50. It only finds the SKY TV and some Radio channels, nothing else. I've also tried scanning a single frequency where I know that there must be channels on it, however it doesn't return any, while the Mystique TV application finds all channels as expected.
For reference, I'm located in Germany and the cable provider is Unitymedia.

I've installed the KNC ONE BDA driver version 2.1.202.0 and also imported the BDA-TuningSpaces-vista.reg, although I've no idea if this step was necessary. But it didn't work before and it's not working now, so it doesn't seem to cause any harm at the moment.

There's a recurring error message in the TVServer logs during the scanning which I think doesn't come from Mediaportal, because it's in german:

    2010-07-23 13:54:26.475910 [(6)]: dvb:confused:ubmitTuneRequest returns:0x1 - S_FALSEDie Datei "%2" konnte von der Anwendung %1 nicht verarbeitet werden, weil dafür Indeo®-Decoder vom Typ %3 erforderlich sind.

and in the error log it keeps repeating:

2010-07-23 13:10:27.391691 [(10)]: Exception :TvLibrary.TvException: Unable to tune to channel
bei TvLibrary.Implementations.DVB.TvCardDvbBase.SubmitTuneRequest(Int32 subChannelId, IChannel channel, ITuneRequest tuneRequest, Boolean performTune)
    bei TvLibrary.Implementations.DVB.TvCardDvbBase.Tune(Int32 subChannelId, IChannel channel)
    bei TvLibrary.Implementations.DVB.TvCardDVBC.Tune(Int32 subChannelId, IChannel channel)
    bei TvLibrary.Implementations.DVB.DvbBaseScanning.Scan(IChannel channel, ScanParameters settings)
    bei TvService.ChannelScanning.Scan(IChannel channel, ScanParameters settings)

Don't know if this is the root of the problem, although it seems to be a hint. However I've no idea what the message wants to tell me, other than that I'm probably missing some kind of decoder. As the variables seem to not be resolved properly, I've no idea what it wants exactly. In terms of codecs, I've got SAF 5 (unlocked) installed btw.

    I'm using the scanning settings:
    - Country: Germany
    - Region/Provider: Full

Everything else is at standard values as far as I can tell. The TVServer/MePo installation is a fresh 1.1.0 final installed this morning. The TVServer database is completely new.

If anyone has any ideas - I'd be glad to try some things out, as I'm somewhat clueless about what the reason could be.

    Perhaps this will help you.

    It logs:

Die Datei "%2" konnte von der Anwendung %1 nicht verarbeitet werden, weil dafür Indeo®-Decoder vom Typ %3 erforderlich sind.

Never seen this, so not sure installing such a decoder can help.

I eventually figured it out. In the TV card configuration I had to select "dvbc" as provider instead of the "Generic" setting which is the default. Afterwards a new full scan did return all the channels.
    But thanks anyway!

AW: DVB-C: TVServer doesn't find channels

Same here: Configuring the card in the card config with DVBC rather than generic did the job.
    :D
