Can someone recommend a Satelite card. I have seen a number of threads about different issues on different cards. So I am wondering which card is the best choice with the least amount of trouble. I looked at the instructions for adding a card thats not on the supported list. After picking my jaw up of the ground I decided to post this question.

Let me know please

    Hi,

    • If you want to decode scrambled channels and need DiSEqC (1.0) support: either FireDTV or FloppyDTV from DigitalEverywhere.
    • If you don't need DiSEqC support, but want to be able to decrypt channels then a Twinhan Sat CI is also a possibillity (next to the FireDTV/FloppyDTV).
    • If you just want to view Free To Air channels but do need DiSEqC (1.0), then a SkyStar2 would be a good option.
    • If you just want to view Free To Air channels and don't need DiSEqC either, any supported DVB-S card will do. See the supported DVB-S hardware list for more cards; the definitive list of supported cards is in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml (not very readable) or review the changelog entries for dman_LFC's hard work (getting almost every card supported).

    Kind regards,
    Michel

    Hi,

and what about a TT-Budget card? It supports DiseqC 1.0 and CAM, correct me if I'm wrong. The new card from technotrend, TT-budget S2-3200, also supports DVB-S2, which could be useful in the near future?

I find the Fire/FloppyDTV a bit expensive, could a TT-Budget user confirm the card operates fine with MP?

    Regards,
    Olivier.

Your right about the XML file. I read it and my eyes started to bleed. Argh.
I want to be able to move my BEV account from my normal receiver to my MP device. I don't want to do anything illegal or in appropriate, but the flexibility that MP has over a regular receiver is immense.

So once I buy the card, is there a place one can go to better understand how to do this.
