    Hi all,

Is there a way to get more info on what is being grabbed, and added to the tvguide?

I sometimes have gaps in the guide, channels with no epg info, and duplicate descriptions (like "This is the description of program. This is the description of program")

It could also be the cable-provider messing up, but I just want to make sure it isn't a bug in mepo/dvbc-drivers/whatever before complaining to the provider.

So a complete logging of all the info grabbed would be nice, or maybe a simple test-tool?

Edit: I did check the logs to see if anything remarkable happened, but nothing found there...

    Hi doskabouter

You could "debug" the EPG content using the EPG Collector. That will create an XMLTV file from the EPG content in the cable provider stream...

    Hi again

Did you run the EPG Collector with administrator privileges?

Try specifying a specific tuner card when running EPG Collector - use it's GUI - and see if you can collect stuff that way. Are you after DVB-C or DVB-T stuff specifically....?

If that doesn't work, post the whole log file and I will fling it at the guy sitting next to me who helped write the thing.

    :)

    Hi doskabouter

I contacted the current maintainer of the EPG Collector and he recommends you try version 3.0 fp3 rather than 3.1 because he isn't *certain* that it works properly with DVB-C (not enough testers).

I have similar problems over DVB-S - sometimes there is no information at all - sometimes gaps - sometimes full.

I'm not sure which channels the information is carried on any more - does anyone have a list of which channels should be ticked in the grabber?

It would vary from provider to provider. If you're grabbing data for Freesat then obviously the Freesat Info channel (which gets scanned in as a radio channel) should be ticked. Other than that, I'm not sure that I can help.
