Hi again
This thread is more of a question. When I look at the properties of my TV card in device manager (control panel->[device]->[right click]->properties), I can see that my device is using PsisDecd.dll and PsisRndr.ax from C:\Windows\system32 *not* from my DVB fix folder (go to the "driver" tab and click on the "driver details" button).
Is this a problem?
I ask because I am experiencing all sorts of tuning reliability issues. My TV card is a 6 tuner device (2xDVB-S + 2xhybrid DVB-T/analog). All 4 "aerial" inputs are supplied with the same signal (combined analog, DVB-T and DVB-S with 2 satellites), but from tuner to tuner I get inconsistencies in signal strength and quality, in picking up transponders, and in transponder frequency. For example, I can scan a satellite on one tuner without any problem, but when I scan that same satellite on the other DVB-S tuner *with the same cable* I sometimes have to change transponder frequencies by 1 or 2 MHz (if I don't do this I can get pixelation and stutter from the channels on the transponder, not be able to reliably timeshift on the transponder, or not pick up the transponder in the scan), or even worse not be able to pick up the transponder no matter what I try. Another example: on the DVB-T tuners installing a 15dB signal amplifier made signal strength go from 80% (without amp) to 30%. Without the amplifier I would be unable to tune a mux at 778MHz on one tuner, but I could on the other tuner *with the same cable*.
Anyhow enough about that. They are bizarre problems, and I was just wondering if it was possible that the problem could be affected by my tuner card drivers. FYI the version of PsisDecd.dll in system32 is 6.5.2600.5512 (2008-04-14) and I am running XP Pro SP3 with all the latest updates.
