posts here and on dvbn seem to point to a NA problem only. if you select instream epg you should get a couple hours worth of EPG data. grab epg on idle has been broken for about a month.

I have the same problem in the UK, but have checked the box to allow EPG grab while timeshfting and it now seems to be updating.
Interesting - for NA there is another twist in that only certain transponders (and by extension channels) carry the full EPG. I've worked around this for now by having only EPG grab while time-shifting and scheduling a daily recording on the EPG channel. Hopefully this is looked at soon - its one of only a few glitches the effect daily usage.
