DVB-T Signal Quality and strength (1 Viewer)

I'm experiencing lots of problems with my DVB-T signal. It's very unstable - sometimes both strength and quality is maxed out, and at other times it is very low and I just can't figure out why???

I'm using a low-powered antenna and a HVR-1300 tuner card and i'm beginning to belive that it's my antenna/signal that is making all the trouble, like over-drive or something like that.

Can someone give me a troubleshooting-guide in how to debug my signal difficulties?

scanchannelsbda will give your reception signal, but you would need to manually put in frequency ie, 842000 followed by any offset in the next box shown, prior to scanning.

Repeat for each mux you have access to.

Sorry unable to find one specifically designed for Denmark, Australia\UK yes Denmark no, but it will still work on a manual search anyway.

I've just tried it out, and i have attached the log file from ScanChannelsBDA. It appears that my strength = -41000 and quality=0, but I don't know if it's good or bad?

How do I read the results?

Bad, Strenght should be at least 50, Quality should be 100.

658000 really is one of your local transmitter mux , sure there is not a offset like mine "166"which causes it to search +-166 either side of the frequency you have selected.

I take it you have no channels received on that frequency at all.

I'm sure it's the right frequency, and I do get signals on that frequency. The log file I attached was not a very good example. I'm at work right now, but when i'm back at my 'casa' i'll try experiencing a little bit more.

As you can see the quality is quite good, but the strength is not (negative?) Could it be some sort of overdrive, electronic distorsion or likewise?

have you checked your signal and "quality" with a regular box? Will give you some idea about your antenna system.

Agreed, but be aware settop boxes will work where pc TVcards will not, much better tuners and less interference from the surrounding components.

May well be you aerial\cable is at fault, if you get problems with a settop box (usually shows up at least one group of channels on a particular mux will not work).
