FFS someone save my sanity... just getting to grips with MP yet when ever I insert a DVD disk into my drive and play DVD via MP the video is perfect yet the audio stutters and jumps.

Reconfigured MP, tried different svn's reinstalled AC3 filter reinstalled FFDShow etc etc etc etc - no change.

If i rip the dvd (my son's shrek film as he keeps scratching disks) plays back fine yet using the disk in the drive is crap.

|Have spent hours googling, checked for DMA yadda yadda yadda and still no fix

Thanks for the reply but how can I post error logs ?? I assume MP is not reporting this as an error as I get no messages to say such.. if I am wrong where do I look for them

Use Start -> Programs -> MediaPortal -> MPTestTool

Other things orth trying:
DL Filmerit (checks for codec errors)
Try latest SVN snapshot.

I had prolems with ReClock myself - even after it was (supposedly) uninstalled, so ...

Great thanks didnt even know that feature was there...... mind you make no sense to me ! I have noticed that it seems to be all films that are in VTS files etc IE DVD, the ones converted to avi etc are fine

Hi

Anything that may control dvd speed could be causing this, especially nero, if installed.

ps. Rip DVD's soo much easier to handle and with modern HDD's storage space not a problem.

no nero installed I use dvd shrink after dvd decrypter...any more thoughts

well an update on the problem, spent many hours removing and reinstalling everything and no damn difference. MP plays all audio and video stuff fine except for DVD disks or rips of same, yet when I trued it using Windows Media Centre it all works fine !!! DO I really have to go back to the darkside ?? MCE using the same sound card, video card, files, codecs etc etc can handle it no problems. As playing DVD is a big issue I think I am just gunna have to bite the bullet and wave bye bye. Anyone else got this unfixable issue as Id like to compare notes or can anyone see anything in the above logs to point me somewhere as they mean nowt to me !

gettin desperate now....tried felmerit but couldnt even get it to run ! I have no knowledge or understanding of filmerit or graphs which i keep stumbling over in posts any tips or idiot guides to trouble shoot or set up ??

Just reinstalled latest AC3 filter and latest(!) ffdshow and left them a pretty much default just setting up the use of spdif for the audio and still no luck. Im loathed to get more codecs as I see soo much bad press about them. Would powerdirector cause me any issues?
