dvd iso not working correctly in media portal (1 Viewer)

Hi

I have added ISO files to media portal - however am having a couple of issues.

1 ) The videos are showing up as say, Iron Man.iso when it should just show as Iron Man. I have added "iso" to the known video formats in media portal config but this doesnt change anything.

2 ) As well as this dvd cover art does not show. Maybe this is because of the iso extension still showing. It appears fine in media portal config (myfilms).

Any ideas!!!:D

The ISO files do seem to play though.

    Hi there.

Are you talking about SHARES view of Database view?

    I quickly tested this.
You have an option in MP Configuration; General to show or hide extensions. It does not look if it influence behaviour other than the display.
My coverart display in both Shares and Database view. That is when focus is on the ISO file. If I go in Shares to the virtual DVD drive, the coverart does not display.

Ahh your correct. When i change to database view the artwork does show along with removing the .iso extension.

I would much rather prefer to use share view though, but i may have to look into database view if i want it working 100% then.

Unfourtunatly it doesnt seem like i can make new genres, i wanted to keep my HD movies alltogether. Its also gonna take me a long time to reorganise everything, since i just used shares to make things easier.

changing to database view completly messed things up. Im trying to fix it now.. i hope this is sorted in the problem, i really would prefer to view my videos via shares I just do not understand why it does not display cover art and get rid of iso file extension while in share mode?

My cover art even show in shares view. What is different?

So on your disk you have Iron Man.iso and Iron Man.jpg in the same folder?
YES, for Shares you will have to manually download a cover for each iso and name it exactly same as movie.

If it still does not work, please give us more detail on your setup and folder structure. Screenshots will be nice.

I know it might sound like a silly question - sorry. Difficult without all information at hand.

How many spaces between "The Mummy" and "3.iso"? In screenshot it looks like 2?

If that is not the problem, please play the file and then attach your logs.

Ah i feel a bit of an idiot - there was a extra space on the jpg picture. For some reason the iso was linking to the mummy 3.jpg even though the actual iso was the mummy 3.iso Strange.

Its a shame it still has ISO extension showing but i can deal with that for the time being.

    Hiding .iso extension

I have read through the various posts and although some say the .iso file extension is hidden and some not, does the final post mean that there is no way to hide the .iso extension in shares view at all? Is this on the list for release later in the year or in MPII?

    Thanks

    Dave

I would also like to see .iso added to the list of extensions that are hidden if the option is ticked. Is there a better place for me to request this?

Try the latest SVN. There is image file handling improvements.

    - hide extension if included in accepted movie files
    - show IMDB info for image files (share view)
    - show cover art for image files (share view)
    - faster mount procedure
    - support for Virtual CloneDrive (you need the version with Daemon support)
    - unmount after playing, faster mount
    - does not mount when going to movie info page (play only mounts), faster movie info

    Still to come in 1.0.2:
    - stacking support for image files

    Cheers,
    M
