Synopsis:
Bug recreation:
1. Use VMR9 renderless for dvd-playback.
2. Set mp to start in fullscreen.
3. Select to play ".img" file of a DVD.
4. The mounting part works well with deamontools.
but the dvd is showing on a "plane"/screen behind(?)
the "filelist". You will be able to hear the sound.


the things above works well if you start mp as a window, not fullscreen.

I have the same problem, but solved it with disable “use exclusive DirectX Mode for Fullscreen tv/video).
It’s in Configuration --> General.

Enabling this "use exclusive DirectX Mode for Fullscreen tv/video)" also makes the music playing by "windows media player" stop working. Only way to play mp3 is through "directshow".

if you disable "use exclusive..", then theres no problem using media player as music player.

May anyone explain what this switch does? Shall it increase performance or?

I just finished my Bug report, but it seems more people already experience this same problem.

I was going to post:
When I start a DVD by clicking on the DVD icon in My Movies, the audio of the DVD starts playing but I get no picture.

When I play a DVD by clicking Yes on the question "Do you wish to play the DVD" or when I click on the "Play DVD" option in My Movies, I get both audio and picture.

Sounds like a bug in the My Movies part of MediaPortal.

Turning exclusive mode off indeed solves the problem.
