DVD playback issues (1 Viewer)

mmm i dont think its a mp error. When i try to launch the video player the dvd came with it says something about bad dvd nvigation. And when i try to launch it in media player it says dvd hasnt been unprotected...

anyone know how to fix this?

Getting further in the problem i downloaded power dvd....
trying to play any dvd bounces back an error saying
can not play protected material when tv out function is enabled?

how do i fix this obviously i need tv out enabled.
Im using a XGI v3xt video card

    Doesnt the v3xt card have a hardware MPEG-2 decoder? Maybe this decoder only works with a single display? Try disabling TV-out and see if this solves your problem, if it does im guessing its a decoder/driver issue. I would suggest trying out different drivers.

    Otherwise as GitsLM says, it might be some crazy copy protection scheme, what DVD's have you tried playing?

    Btw, i noticed you had some problems with the compress option in MP just like i do. Did you manage to get it to work, and did you try VMW and MPEG-2 as well as Xvid?

    it is a "copy protection" introduced with SP1 of Windows XP afaik. Windows does simply not allow playback of DVD through S-Video Out....

    I used WinXP SP2 with S-Video out for a while and encountered no such problems. If this is the problem i would suggest downloading the trial version of *** which decrypts DVD's on a driver level. If this is indeed such a protection scheme, then it should work with *** installed.
