Hi, stuttering DVD is an endless story. Sorry not supplying a solution as I'm in the same situation. In my case I could nail down the problem to my VGA-TV- connection. I'm using a VGA-RGB cable to my TV and therefore I have to use 'Powerstrip' to switch on interlaced mode of the VGA- card. In this mode, some copy protected DVDs do stutter. If Powerstrip is stopped and a 'normal' PC-monitor is connected, everything is fine again. Playing these DVDs in WMPLAYER let a copy protection issue arises: WMPLAYER complains about "a problem with digital rights management". The DVD is a legal purchase. (<OT>The DVD is "SUPERDRUMMING" by Pete York"; you won't get this in the dark tombs of the net ... </OT>) . Perhaps some updates are missing and perhaps there is the core of the problem. What did NOT solve: - Exchange the VGA - card to a model with more processing power. - Removal of suspicious mainboard drivers ( here: NVIDIA NFORCE2 IDE drivers) - Firmware update of DVD-drive So my solution is that I'll go for a VGA with a direct TV- RGB out. In my case I'll choose a ATI 9800 XXL formely sold by Medion. That way I can get rid of Powerstrip and then my DVD problems should vanish. Hopefully. Good luck and best regards /Gerd
