DVD player stops responding (1 Viewer)

Maybe this rings a bell for somebody: Mediaportal is working fine here, except for one annoying issue I am having. Playing movies from a remote network share is working fine, the problem lies in playing DVD's. Which seems to work nicely, any DVD starts playing, I can navigate through the menus and select play, and playback wil begin. Pressing F7/F8 for previous/next chapter works fine, pausing the playback works as expected, too. But as soon as I touch one of the cursor buttons to seek, the player stops responding, while continuing the playback. Only killing the mediaportal.exe task will help, despite the playback of the DVD remains ongoing, it is impossible to control mediaportal from that point on.

Anybody knows this to be a known issue?

Are you using the internal player for DVD's? It sounds like you are using an external player and it is somehow taking focus.

I would suggest using the MP internal DVD player if you aren't already. Turn off DVxA to see if that helps. Also, try different DVD codecs.

You'll also need to post some system info. It may be something to do with a certain type of remote or something.
There are log files in the log directory. Check out the mediaportal.log file and see what the entries are when control fails. Post the entries here if you want someone to look over them.

Sounds like you have all the hard stuff working and the easy part is all you are left with ;-) That's a much better situation to be in.

That's my system info. I am not using an external player, it is really Mediaportal which hangs, even though the DVD keeps playing, it won't respond to any keypress or mouseclick whatsoever.

Don't forget to paste the mediaportal and error log files.
Start MP, play DVD, make it crash then quit (whichever way you can).
    The post the two logs.

After a lot of experimenting, I've solved the problem; a fresh install and new codecs did the trick.

Thx for the replies here. :)
