Hi,
I performed a clean Windows 7 Ultimate installation. And installed the ATI 11.5 driver, haali media splitter. Then I installed the MP 1.2.0 beta. I used the default codec settings. I can play DVDs with Windows Media Player fine. But when I try to play DVD in MP, it gave me this message on the top left corner "Music / Now playing" and bottom left corner "Track: Track information not available". It plays the music but don't play the video of the DVDs.
I uninstalled the 1.2.0 beta and tried 1.1.3 installation but the result was same. No video, but fine audio of the DVDs.
I attached the both 1.1.3 and 1.2.0 beta logs. I coudn't figure out what's wrong.
Thanks for the helps.

    Hi,

Your logs (we really need full logs - follow the bug reporting guidelines please) show

    Code:

and then for me it carries on playing the DVD.

I don't know whether it matters, but you have

    2011-05-09 22:54:04.343850 [Debug][MPMain(1)]: MediaInfoWrapper: isVideo:False, isDVD:True[enabled:False]

so for some reason the DVD is detected as audio only, but then you have

2011-05-09 22:54:04.343850 [Debug][MPMain(1)]: MediaInfoWrapper: disabled for this content

so maybe it is not used.

How many DVDs have you tried? Does changing codecs help?

There is no fundamental problem with DVD playback, so I'm guessing that there is a problem with your system, codecs or the DVD.

We would need full logs and more information to work out what is going on.

    Mark

    Hi,
I prepared a full log here. I try to open regular movie dvds (like lord of the rings, finding nemo, etc ). I didn't install any 3rd party codecs, anything else. Just used the default codecs. And I changed the available codecs but everything showed the same result: no dvd video playing. MP treats the dvds just like audios.
As I said before I just installed the Windows 7, ATI gfx driver, haali splitter and MP 1.2.0 beta. I hope someone figures what's the problem. Thanks everyone...

Can you explain exactly how you are starting DVD? Is it via play menu on home screen, autoplay or through video plugin

I start it with the "play disc" option on the home screen.

OK please could you try the attached
    (backup the windowsplugins.dll file in
    c:\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal\plugins\windows or
    c:\program files (x86)\team mediaportal\mediaportal\plugins\windows)

then put the attached there and try playing a DVD

I attached the logs with newer windowsplugins.dll. I also made another test. I installed the Win7 Ultimate to my other PC. I just installed the plain MP, no other 3rd party stuff. I started with the default MP settings (don't touch any settings) and see what happens. But again no DVD video played. MP assumes video dvds as audio only.
    Thanks for the helps.

    This is indeed odd.....
    you have
    Code:
    2011-05-11 07:51:37.649974 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: g_Player.Play(E:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO [B]Video[/B])
so it requests to play video but when it actually starts you get
    Code:
    2011-05-11 07:51:38.316012 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: g_Player.OnStarted() E:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO media:[B]Music[/B]
but I am struggling to see why

I am in a hotel away with work so don't have any DVDs to test myself. I am assuming others are able to play DVDs from play disc option on home screen without issue ??

is there anything different about your setup?? are these DVDs standard DVDs?
