I am not having any luck getting the Dvico 5 RT gold to tune channels. The card works fine with the Fusion software, but it wont find any channels in MP:

has anyone gotten a FusionHDTV5 RT Gold to work? i've been working on the def. file, but no luck yet.
I have RC3 and the latest Dvico drivers (from there site)
I have just the drivers installed, no Dvico software (7-zip rules!!)
I have just 3 entries in Device Manager (WinXP Pro SP2)
I'll post my DevID for my card up later, if needed.

I just purchased the same Tuner card, I had a pcHDTV card that I couldn't get working. I saw that this card was supported so I purchased it. I'm not having much luck either. The Fusion software works fine for me also. I uninstalled it hoping the Media Portal would notice the card but it doesn't. I get the error No Tuner Card Detected. Did you get any farther than this? Why is setting up the stuff do difficult?

i've might leave Media Portal...
I started using Got All Media
It detected the card right off, and tuning on analog cable works great, though the interface and navigation could use some work
Basically, if you have Dvico Fusionxxx card, use Got All Media

I tried Got All Media it will not scan Digital Cable channels. I know some of my digital cable channels are not encrypted.

Any other ideas?

So the three of us are the only guys trying to get this card working in Media Portal? When the documentation says it is supported what does that mean? Who supports it? I see the the CaptureCard.XML file has the entry. Does that mean it's supported?

on another post/topic, on guy got his card to work
he posted is entry to CaptureCard.xml for the Dvico FusionHDTV 5 RT Gold
i used it, and it detected my card
BUT after an upgrade from RC3 to final version...it stopped being detected...of course i couldn't get it to tune channels via analog cable

as for Got All Media (GAM):
i know that GAM detected "two" cards: one for analog and one for ATSC(digital cable)
make sure the right one is selected and that you have MPEG2 codec(s) installed

Whos MPEG2 Decoder do I need installed? I downloaded and executed Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility. It said that I had 2 Mpeg-2 Decoders intalled from Ulead and didn't like either one of them. It said they were not compatable with Media Player 10. Installed Media Portal, and 2 more Mpeg-2 Decoders showed up they still weren't compatable with Media Player 10? I modified the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file and replaced the original section with the one above, ran setup wizard in settings and still no tuner found? What's next? What is the software looking for to determine if a video card is installed? Do I need some registrey settings?

now you're at the point to were I got stuck. Unfortunately, I haven't made any progress beyond what I've sent to you. That's why I moved to GAM. Though, if you're still having trouble in both....I'm not sure what to do. Your best bet maybe to get GAM working. You can check the forums there to see if anyone might help. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but you're up to where I got, and I couldn't even go any further.

If you want...just for sh**s and giggles...you could try BeyondTV. I haven't tried it, but I've heard great things from a friend that uses it. Plus, from what I've read, it should support Dvico FusionHDTV cards. You can try it for a few days for free, but then you have to pay. It's worth a try to get things working 100%, even if you have to pay for a product. Though, BeyondTV is cheaper then getting Windows Media Center 2005 or Vista Ultimate or Home Premium.

So there are some other options you can try out.
