Hi,

i've started with 0.2.2.0 and latest drivers for dvico, which at this point are 3.62

New drivers are not in the cardlist, so i had to add them as described. At this point card does get recognized but would not autotune. However, Dvico's software does not exhibit a slightest sign of a problem tuning in either digital or analog channels.

So.. i rolled back drivers to 3.51. At this point, card is recognized as already pre-configured. However, it still would not autotune. So all symptoms are the same. Dvico 3.51 does not have a problem tuning (when installed).

Finally, i also tried varios mediaportal versions -- 0.2.2.0, 0.2.2.0 latest SVN, 0.2.1.0, 0.2.0.0 -- all with exactly the same symptoms -- card recognised, but would not autotune.

Another peculiar thing that while tuning, signal strength in the configuration dialog is high, but signal quality gauge is always 0.

I am new to mediaportal+TV card issues, but i did do a decent homework of searching this forum for dvico configuration problems before doing this post, and can be farely sure i tried everything relevant i could find -- and still clueless. Dvico drivers do not seem to be a factor, since dvico software works, as well as hardware malfunction is not a factor either... but mediaportal behavior doesn't change a bit with different version, either, so frankly i've ran out of things to try at this point...

Thank you very much for any clues.

QAM cable mode

Actually, there is one more thing that came to my mind.

I run DVICO with QAM cable (not with ATSC over the air). So FusionTV software actually needs to be put into cable mode in order to find QAM channels.

Is it possible that QAM mode is just not supported by media portal? is there a way to put the card into QAM mode with MP? in FusionTV software, it seems to be really just a matter of selecting input (ANT vs. CABLE)

Thanks. -d

Ok, after researching this problem, it looks like the problem is indeed in MP not supporting US QAM.

Please let me know if i am mistaken, and there's a way to get MP show local QAM programming. Otherwise, i am considering this as unresolvable problem for now.

Thanks.

has anyone gotten a FusionHDTV5 RT Gold to work? i've been working on the def. file, but no luck yet.
I have RC3 and the latest Dvico drivers (from there site)
I have just the drivers installed, no Dvico software (7-zip rules!!)
I have just 3 entries in Device Manager (WinXP Pro SP2)
I'll post my DevID for my card up later, if needed.
