I just did a format to fix some issues, but as always this has created a new issue. I used to be able to watch TV in MediaPortal using my E3168 based USB DVB-T card. I have re-installed the BDA drivers and according to windows, all is well. MediaPortal doesn't want to detect the card though:



Any suggestions?

Hmm...
I managed to scrounge some newer drivers using DriverMax. The card is now detected, and I can even scan and find channels using the TV Server setup. If I try and watch those channels on MediaPortal though, the program freeezes
Any thoughts?

Some more info and issues:
I tested the capture card in Windows Media Centre, and it works fine there.

I tried uninstalling / re-installing the Mediaportal TV Server, but now the service doesn't even want to start properly. Every time I try to configure it, I get a popup telling me the service is not started. I click 'yes' to start it, but nothing happens
When loading MediaPortal it sits on 'waiting for TV Server to start' for ages as well.

Here are some fresh logs to look at if it helps:

From the logs it looks like it's confused about IP addresses - try completely uninstalling MP & TV-server including the database.

Tried that. Did a complete uninstall, restart, then re-install. No luck
TV server is still not starting.
I then tried a system restore to before I upgraded the TV card drivers & disconnected it.
TV server is still not starting.

I hope I'm not going to have to wipe the whole PC again...

Ok. I managed to resolve the TV Server issue by rolling back Windows to its original fresh-out-of-the-box state, then re-installing everything (except the TV card) from scratch. I think it was an SQL issue, but what ever it was, it's fixed now. The next step will be to backup everything (happening as I type) and then try and install/configure the TV card.

I'll let you know how it goes.

All fixed It seems I was having two separate issues:

1) MediaPortal having a hissy fit over the TV Card drivers (don't know why, but it works now)
2) SQL server issues
