i ve try many other catalog software in my opinion nothing better of eax till now, the version 3 beta 5 is really working well and as u can see following this thread dino have made

    new scripts for international user.

The developing and future of eax movie catalog itself is instead unknown.

What do you think about Moving Pictures?
    MEDIAPORTAL - Moving Pictures

It has a social portal (this is mine) for movies and they working constantly on it.

Bad side: this is not an independent program, it needs Mediaportal mediacenter program to run.

My Films is a very different plugin - it is designed to combine the strength and power of a movie catalog/manager with MediaPortal's media centre features. Version 5.0 integrates many of the advanced search and update features of movie catalogs into MediaPortal.

Several pay catalogs now provide an interface with Media center apps like Windows Media Center and XBMC, but in my experience none of those come even close to the ease and functionality of My Films. Verson 5.0 will support eight different catalogs, which can export an xml file, although only the free Ant Movie Catalog (AMC) allows updates from within My Films because it supports an xml database.

Eax is great and version 3.0 even supports a native xml database which would enable My Films and Eax to use the same database - so it could support updates like AMC does. I really hope Zylar resurfaces and continues development!

Until then Ant Movie Catalog still remains the best bet, because it does support a xml database so you can manage and update your movie catalog from within My Films. We are all still on the lookout for a better alternative that supports more fields! The ~30 fields AMC supports are no where near enough for me! :p

I have not investigated it or tried it but I believe My Movies does. You can google for a lot of forum posts about it. My Movies (Collection Management) will be supported in My Films 5.0.

Yes i'm using it for the moving picture plugin but the purpouse is quite different.

What i need at home is a standalone database and this can be done only with software like eax or ant mc etc.

Most of my movies are on dvd so the main purpose for me is to catalog them with labels numbers and kind of media.
