Tuner Hardware DigitalDevices Cine CT v6 / DigitalDevices CI Module for CineV6
CI module Alphacrypt Classic 3.23

Hi all, I'm wondering how to configure the following settings to suit my machine/tuner:

Number of channelds being decoded?
And allow this card to be preloaded?

Thanks!

Hi Digibeet, as far as I know, the alphacrypt can decode 2 streams at the same time, so you should put 2 at the channel decode simultaneously.
You can try to preload the card, so the time for the first tune will be better. But because some cards/systems have problem with this, you should try it and if you got problems on wakeup then try to put this option off.
Another thing is the Network provider. If everything works fine you can go with generic. If you got problems then try the dvbs provider. The same for the option stop/pause card. It really depends on the system. Try these option and revert it when you got problems.

Just a correction: the alphacrypt (Classic) can decrypt much more then 2 channels. The question is how many channels the card can decode.
I remember something (don't know for sure) that these cards supports Multi Transponder Descrambling (MTD) but only 1 channel per card. Is there somebody who has the definitive answer?

    Hi Digibeet

    Number of channelds being decoded?
    Set to 1.

riksmith is correct. Each tuner can only decrypt one channel. You can't set the decrypt limit for the CAM... yet... so it doesn't matter how many channels the CAM can decrypt. The setting should still be 1.

And allow this card to be preloaded?
You can tick this if you want. It improves the speed of the first tuning.

    I found this aswell:

    The Digital Devices System
    Dual Tuner
Simultaneously record 1 program while watching another.
    Unicable® Support
Connect up to 8 tuners via one antenna cable with Unicable® / SCR / CENELEC En50494 compliant LNB or Multiswitch.
Support for up to 6 tuners
    DVB-S2 and/or DVB C/T (cable/terrestrical) in any combinations.
    Low profile
4 tuners can be mounted on just 1 PCI bracket.
    (see pictures below)
    CI with MTD technology (optional)
MTD (Multi Transponder Decrypting): only 1 CAM is needed to decrypt 4 encrypted TV channels. View 1 encrypted program while recording up to 3 others.
NB Not all CAMs support this feature. Compatible CAMs can be found on our website.
MTD saves the extra cost of buying multiple CI cards, CAMs and Smart Cards. Only 1 Common Interface with 1 CAM and 1 Smart Card needed. No need to buy multiples.

    Hi Digibeet

It makes no difference to my recommendation. The CAM is shared by all the tuners (which is what they are talking about - a situation where you have 4 tuners and a CAM that can decrypt 4 channels simultaneously), but in all my experience each tuner can only decrypt one channel.

Hi mm, but when you have your multidecrypt patch ready, this should work, right?
Can you give a hint how the progress of your different card ci/cam patches is? Any chance to see them in 1.3 beta?

No - this is a driver limitation.

I am close to releasing in Area 51. Not sure about 1.3b - the changes to the TvLibrary are very significant. I would have to release in the next week and get lots of people testing for a month before I would be comfortable putting it into 1.3b.
