Hi
I have several h264 .ts files from HDTV. They are from the music channel, and I have been spliting music videos and re-encoding them. The current method i have been using is to
1. Re-encode the .ts file using handbrake into a mkv file
Settings: Decomb = yes, 2 pass, h264 (x264), Avg Video bitrate = 1500kbps, Stereo AAC 160kbps
2. Split the file using mkvmerge
Problem is that it takes about 20-30minutes to re-encode an hour long .ts file, when i only use about 5 minutes for the video.
Is it possible to split the .ts file prior to re-encoding, this would be a lot faster?
Is anyone currently spliting first the re-encoding later?
