@ shred444: I know that post processing is working through the OSD of ffdshow (as stated in the TS). It shows input resolution, output resolution and cpu usage, and also the ffdshow videodecoder icon appears in the systemtray. When no OSD appears and no ffdshow videodecoder icon appears in the system tray post processing isn't working.

About the quality: That is the reason i'm trying this. I'm projecting a 160cmx90cm display with the resolution of 1280x720 in my livingroom with a beamer, I would like to see if upscalling the dvd's could improve the quality.
Upscalling divx/xvid's isn't really neccesary for me because these are mostly series in my case which I don't watch on my beamer but on my simple CRT TV.

[USER=24418]illStyle[/USER]: my bad, I use version 20051115 of ffdshow. About the OSD: this is showing up with divx/xvid's but not with DVD's. Both post processing enabled and disabled in MP config doesn't change this (disable post processing in MP config, result: post processing still happens with divx/xvid's).
