Disabling this option does not work - the screensaver still comes on. After disabling the screensaver the problem arose again when power mangement turned off the monitor. This option needs fixing and power management needs taking into account.

I notice that you have now installed the latest CVS - could you please confirm that this is no longer an issue?

Are you sure this is not a windows power management issue rather than a MediaPortal issue? I don't think there is much MediaPortal can do if you have windows set to run off the monitor after 20 minutes or whatever (except maybe if MediaPortal did something weird like simulate keypresses when idle). If you have windows power management set then tell it to never turn off your monitor and see if you still get the black screen.

It is an issue in CVS - both the screensaver and power management are active when in fullscreen.

jawbroken: Games etc manage ok - i'm pretty sure there is an API for disabling this stuff temporarily. Even my official TV card software does it.

Replying to this as never had problem, and I update every week.
First thing I do when i reinstall Windows is tailor it too what I want, and suddenly shutting things down is not my idea of fun.
First thing I do when MP installed is go into setup and remove screensaver (never seen point have lcd screen).
Really does sound like a MS problem than a MP. Would be interested to see how many other people have this problem, who have already disabled powersave mode's and also do not (important) have any other software that has its own powersave settings installed

Its odd. Power settings in XP set to "Home/Office" all other settings set to "Never".

Changed to "Always On" now no screensaver.

Changed back to "Home/Office" still with other settings set to "Never" and still no screensaver .... :?
