I'm setting up a new HP dv6-2140ed laptop. I'd like to use MediaPortal for all my HD (and normal) movie stuff. Now setup was easy but the codec part is driving me nuts. As far as I can see Haali Media splitter, ffdshow tryouts and CoreAVC are options as is the package offered on the forum here. For m2ts file I need the mpc-hc since MediaPortal can't play these.

Do I need all of them or is CoraAVC enough (or whatever package)? Using mpc-hc the m2ts file plays fine but when I connect the laptop to a full hd tv (extend desktop( I get some stuttering.

Do you have any advise how to set this laptop up and how to get rid of the stuttering when connected to the tv?

Regards

Full logs would help very much, so for now we can just guess. Since you are playing .m2ts files I assume that you are watching a Blu-Ray movie. Those movies use a framerate of 23.976Hz. When you connect your laptop to the TV make sure that it is set to 24Hz and that your GPU outputs 23.976Hz or close to that number. Also using an extended desktop will often cause trouble with movie playback. Try setting the TV as the only display. Report back if that doesn't help.
