    [DOUBLEPOST=1369967934][/DOUBLEPOST]Hi

    I found the problem

    Go to output tab, Set Format of episode tag = Valiid season + episode numbers only

    You can also enable online lookups to grab episode + movie thumbs, but AFAIK mediaportal doesn't support using them. In the XML tab you can merge the DVB epg source with other online xml sources.

    To get more help with epgcollector visit geekzone forums in NZ :)

    and that number is for the show number, not the episode number, reading the first set of numbers and not the second set, gonna test further.

    I opened tvguide.xml and I looked at the season + episode numbers for a program
    Then I briefly recorded that program
    I then looked at the tv_recording_filename.xml and I found the same numbers

    Some program entries might not have S#E# information if it's not provided by the DVBepg.

    Why do you need to know the S##E## information?

    If it is just to prevent duplicate recordings you could use the crid cides etc, i am guessing that is what they are for... if it's for online look up of episode metadata then I wouldn't rely on the tv station having the S#E# correct/in line with what is used by thetvdb.

    I know about as much as you I think. I think CRID is a unique identifier for tv episodes (do you remember 'gcode') I think it might be like that.

    Looking at what you posted the episode information is blank for some shows if you set it to `valid season and episode numbers only` , however the other formats were all filled out, so it looks like `valid season and episode numbers only` might be the worst option.

    The other formats all look essentially the same, so they might all be just as good as each other.

    I can only guess but I think you should set it to whatever format it was for default. (I know that default was not `valid season and episode numbers only`)
