    Looks like I'll be continuing to fiddle with EPG and retuning as and when the problem recurs. Think I'll go back to turning the EPG grabber off when idle, as this seems to give the most stability.
    I meant to say in my previous post: this has absolutely nothing... zero connection... to do with the idle EPG grabber. The idle grabber only runs when no tuners are in use, so it has no possibility to affect timeshifting or recording.

    However as you stated, it does seem to return for no apparent reason.
    I wasn't stating that there is no apparent reason at all. Yes, there is no bug causing this, but there is still a cause which I suspect to be your signal quality.

    Are you suggesting that my situation may improve with a better quality TV tuner..and I stress "may"?

    If I feel inclined, I might re-look at the WebEPG as lisag suggested.
    Sure... but as above, I'd put money on the fact that it would make no difference whatsoever.
