where would I compare them at? Most of the screens they just say channel 1 SD says channel 1 edu access etc.....

On the SD plugin under advanced I have the external channel input as tuner is that correct?

Thanks!

Hi.

I saw some instructions from patrick on the forum that are from 11/04/08, however it still mentions running autotune after the SD plugin is configured. I do not see autotune anywhere my setup in mediaportal itself just asks me if I want a stand alone machine... what remote I'm using etc...

Is there a different "autotune" I'm missing?

Thanks.

I know Patrick has autotune in his instructions, but the steps I listed earlier is how I got it to work. (I'm not a read-the-manual kinda guy. ;))

To compare the channels, would just go to Tv Server config, TV CHannels. Select one and click the "edit" button. Do this for one that doesn't work, and one that does work. See if you can spot anything substantial that is different. I am thinking it's "tuner" vs "SHVS#1" in the dropdown or something like that.

Thanks Milhouse!

That did trick, now i'm moving on to the QAM channels. I'm a bit perplexed on how to do this. Since there isn't an official lineup for the local channels I get via QAM, I'm thinking i'm going to have to manually name the channels after the card scans. Then i'm going to have to manually enter the xmlid for them somehow.

Do you know where I would manually enter the XMLTVid?

Thanks.

Sorry, but you're right out at the edge of what I know. I don't have a QAM tuner card yet, so have never gone beyond the straight SD analog lineup. I will say that the digital channels in SD are usually a different prodiver. So if you'd added "my cable company" as a provider, there may be a "my cable company (digital)" as well.

That's as far as I can help you, but glad you got things this far!

Milhouse
