I have nearly always had the same problem (except it also happens on the default view by genre) regardless of which svn I have used.

The screenshot below is not taken from the HTPC detailed above but my workstation PC running Vista x86.
The workstation has had one or 2 builds that have been OK from several months ago (I can't remember which ones) but the rest have been similar. The workstation is running TV Server and MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC1.

The HTPC detailed above has exhibited similar behaviour on all the 3 or 4 builds I have installed on it, the current being TV Server + SVN 14788.

This is a shame as I believe that the Search facility is one of the major benefits of the EPG (at present I feel it is slightly better in MCE/Vista but I am confident it will be improved in MediaPortal in the future).

    Hi

I realised my problem with the EPG text was caused by a problem in the one of the GB EPG grabber xml files. When parsing the HTML it was failing to identify the programme description correctly and instead was including it with the text it identified as category. As the category text is used for genres this meant that there were hundreds of genres (1 per programme for that grabber). Each “genre” often consisted of multiple lines (the genre + description) which lead to the text being scrambled.
