The cache folder should actually be created when starting MediaPortal. It is used by the skin engine. Don't know why this would not be the case on your system. Maybe Logfiles could help.

Further investigations learn that the Cache folder is there
But when the mpi’s are installed before starting of MP some mpi’s make a cache folder and other delete the cache folder.
Some mpi’s are deleting the cache folder more that ones

I have discover that if I have a cache folder unther the copy button and view the directory c:\document…..\Mediaportal\... I can place the directory right away if it is removed \ deleted.

When I do that the Extentions Installer ends the right way.

It is not a sollution but it is a workaround.

    Hi!

I have now the same problem.
installed in MP 1.1 via the player some plug-ins
now tried to restart, and get the same error.

i will have a closer look, it happened just 5mins ago. :) and MP running just 30mins. need to find log-files and so on.
i willl keep you updated, or, if someone responds earlier, tell me what ya need to analyze, as i should be able to call me IT-not-n00b. lol.

    thx in advance.

    oh, Windows 7 Enterprise, production.
    MP Stand alone Installation

    ok, i did following.
i went to the folder, and yes you are right, the cache is deleted.
so created a new folder, renamed it to cache, and waited until the origin was deleted and then created it.

it seems one of the plug ins deletes it, but i have no clue which.
what i will do now is install just every plug-in once. not all at one time.
    so it should work also.
