Hi,

I've been playing with Mediaportal for a few days, trying to get everything running. Lately, it refuses to start. There is a error message box, but it is partly covered by the splash screen (which states initializing DirectX). I can't move it, but can click OK. Next error box is also covered by the splash screen, but I can move this one. The message is: "Warning: nothing will be rendered. The reference rendering device was selected, but your computer only has a reduced-functionality reference device installed. ..."
When I click OK, the system hangs at "starting recorder"

I completely re-installed media portal, but no change. Any ideas? Also, any ideas what the first error box would have said? It's driving me crazy..

Thanks,
matthijs

Never mind...

In the process of installing, debugging, reading, etc, I had changed the screen resolution to something that was apparently too high (1400x1050). Swithing the resolution to 800x600 solved the problem.

The first message box (the one I couldn't read) probably told me so.
