error playing mp4 (1 Viewer)

I've got a lot of mp4 files that play fine in Quicktime, VLC, WMP and other applications (sample attached) - when I try to play them through MediaPortal I get:

2012-03-30 12:34:25.150264 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: VideoPlayer9: Failed to render file -> vmr9
2012-03-30 12:34:25.236269 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - C:\Users\Sean\Videos\0_2012-03-22_08-22-43.mp4 - skipping track!

It doesn't seem to matter what I choose as the codec to play the video, it just refuses to play it. I'm writing a plugin for the opensource project ispy (http://www.ispyconnect.com) - which generates these movies so getting it working is pretty important (ispy has about 500,000 users).

Got it sorted by installing the LAV Filters extension.

Thank you! Tried everything else that's for sure.

Still don't know why the windows default, divx, ffdshow or the one in MPC don't work for me though.

Splitter issues? If the splitter can't handle the format then no amount of changing of video codec will help. The LAV package installs a new splitter. Please post logs if you want further assistance.

Ahh, thanks. The LAV package is working for me though so no more issues.
