    Hi guys

    I'm having an issue with some AVI files where I get the error message "Unable to play: <file name> Video Cedec: XVID, Audio Codec: MPEG Audio Version 1 Layer 3"

    The weird thing is that the AVI files play fine when I open them up in Windows Media Player.

    I don't have any codecs installed, only the Haali media splitter for MKV files. I have tried uninstalling this however this has not helped. I have then re-installed.

    Does anybody else have any other suggestions? Logs attached.

    Thanks

    VideoPlayer9: Failed to render file -> vmr9

    Do you have VMR9 enabled for video renderer, this is not recommended on Win7, logs seem to say you have instead of EVR

    We recommend the LAV filters, these are installable through the MP desktop extentions installer, this requires Haali to be removed, Haali is old and no longer maintained.

    Set all audio to LAV in MP, you can keep all the other settings the same if you wish, then LAV video codec will only be used on files that Microsoft cannot play.

    LAV works a treat thank you. I'm not sure why I didn't know about this, and makes sense being installed and maintained through MediaPortal.

    Thanks again!
