Hi,
I was recently checking my computer for malware and viruses with ESET SmartSecurity Suite 5. And after doing this I went to the trayicon and went to statistics to check the threats on my computer and what it had done against them, on this page you can actually see what is being checked in realtime, didn't know this before. There I noticed that the ts stream of the timeshift of MediaPortal is being rescanned on a regular basis (within a few seconds it keeps repeating this test). I am wondering if this may cause problems with recording, switching the channels, etc pp. So I added all my recording and timeshift directories in to the exclusion filter ESET SmartSecurity Suite 5 has. After doing this the constant rescans have stopped.
Thought I would post this, because everyone nowadays is using somekind of antivirus software and maybe they too have this odd behaviour. I will forward this to ESET that they may check in to the matter. :)

Indeed. From the Wiki:

Excluding folders
A virus scanner will check a file for viruses every time it is accessed. During recording or time shifting, the files in the recording or time shifting folders, which you assigned in TV Server Configuration, are constantly changed.
The constant scanning by virus scanners will impair the system performance and may cause stuttering or jolting in the viewed and recorded file. To avoid this problem the directory should be excluded from virus scanning.
