Before I did have my MP and my movie and serie on the same computer.

Now I have move to a house and I have now a Mediaserver that is on 24/7 and also have a TV card so I can recording when I want.

But is very very slow in MP.
Even if I run it in video list and don't use Moving Pictures it is slow.
When I want to watch a movie and I find it it sometime does not play even when I push the play button.
Nothing happend, not even the harddrive in the computer is connected to the TV show any big activity.

Both my server, HTPC and switch have 1gbit and I don't know what to do??

Is it a good idea to force the networkcard to work in 1000?
Right now I think it have auto but I going to try to change that.

More then I must have the movie in a media server so what have you done to make it work as smooth as possible?

I've got a dedicated TV/File server and movies (blu-rays) start within 2/3 seconds (and that's because i also use the Refreshrate Changer).
Forcing the network card into full duplex gbit mode probably doesn't help much.

Please post some logs so we can see what's going on.
Easiest way is to use the WatchDog Option #2, try to reproduce the problem (start a movie for example) and after that post the logs here.

What might help is setting up fixed IPs in the LAN Adapters of every PC in the network.
