Somewere on this forum i've read that it's a best practice to use EVR on vista. To use EVR correctly you must use the aero(because DWM), and if you have a home basic version, you must use the vista standard theme because this uses also DWM. I thought EVR should fix my "screen goes sometimes blank error", but it isn't. WHen this happens i read the following in the mediaportal.log:

I read many times VMR9, but i use EVR. I there is also a EVR log. But why i'm reading so much VMR9 in the log?
TSReaderPlayer: Enabling DX9 exclusive mode

My question is: am i using EVR or VMR9 and does someone know what the PIN does not connected error means?

I have attached a few logs but the don't contain the error. You can read the error in my post.

well it looks like a strange bug to me.

I can't reproduce this on my other machines(workstation / laptops all with mp 1.0 final)

I gave my mediacenter a clean installation and there problem is still there.
I have tried:
other codecs
other videodrivers (ati 8.7/8.12/8.4)

none of this works and it happens only on my barebone with a 690G chip

I tried as last the NORTSP patch and that worked

I think this problem happens since the final release. I never had this problem with rc1-4.
I have a strange feeling that rc1 or rc2 gave me totally no problems instead of rc4 and final.

If this works for a while i quit updating. It cost me a lot of time.

I think it's still good software. I'am a system administrator at an company wich writes ERP software and i know how hard it can be

To bad
the No RTSP doens't work that perfect. Channel swiching is slow and sometimes it hangs.
So i use RTSP again.

At the moment i don't have the blank screen problem.

We should see.....
