When I start MP, I get an error message saying that MP has run inte a problem and has to close. It opens, however, in a way that looks OK to me, being a complete newbie with this program. Any ideas what this might be about?

Attaching exception and error logs.

Is there any information in the error message that may help?
Some of these messages may say "An error has occurred in module XXXXX of Mediaportal" or similar.

Otherwise, take a look in the mediaportal logs located in the log directory. The mediaportal.log and error.log file are probably the best to check first.
Have you been able to run the setup wizard? Some people have issues with that crashing, but if you skip that and go strait to the configuration.exe you can set up manually and may have better luck...

If you still are stuck, post the log files here for us to check over for you.

The logs mention that they couldn't find a dll called sqlite.dll, for the database section of MediaPortal. Have you tried a reinstall of MediaPortal?

Are you be a change using a Swedish Windows XP version? There has been some issues with the SQLite database version that MP is using and Swedish XP.

The error message says nothing of interest except that MP needs to close, which it does not.

Setup wizard and configuration.exe both work.

Error and exception logs are attached to my first posting in this thread (above). I now add mediaportal.log.

    Hi,
Do you have a Hauppauge 45 button remote? & if you disable this you get no error?
The try to apply this SVN & update your drivers (MediaPortal-svn--09-03-2006--19-58-Rev10131):

    Drivers:
First you should update your remote driver to latest version found here grab the one in "Driver + Software" (for your card) CD Version 2.5e(link), use only the updated driver for the remote & the driver for your tuner card (Other software on that cd not necessary)

    SVN:
To install a SVN you should backup your MediaPortal folder(copy it to a safe place), so you easily can revert & apply the new stable patch when it's ready.
