Hi everyone!

after hours of adding movies with the correct thumbnails to the database... id like to know, if its possible to export your "movie folder" database? Cause id like to setup my pc again and format the whole disk. Is there any possibility to safe time and not setting up the database again?

thanks a lot!

greets,
Alex

    you can

    copy the database folder - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database (on win XP)
and the thumbs folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs (on Win Xp)

to somewhere else. Once the re-install complete copy these 2 back and all should be sweet.

Also check out the tips and trick section under MediaPortal 1 within the wiki for other info on databases....UserGuides - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

Tried the above - Using my primary box to do all the configuration, the copying the Database file to my HTPC (which has no keyboard / mouse, hence doing the configuration on that is kinda tricky)

Anyway - The above worked, except a lot of the movies shows up with wrong coverart. On the box where I do the configuration, everything is fine, (d'uh, obviously), but not on the HTPC. It's the "correct" coverart that shows, but often another poster as in different language poster. Ie. Righteous Kill shows up with a french poster.

    Any leads ? :)

And a big thank you to all the devs !..

[Edit:] Did a little more digging - In the Video DB Editor, under Coverart, it's the same picture on both machines. Except the HTPC doesn't use the picture in the movie folder.. A little manual hacking sorted the issue.

    Cheers,
    /Steff
