Hi all,

after loosing all my watched flags due to a recent database crash (I have no clue what happened, it was corrupted from one day to the other) I was thinking about exporting the watched flags on a regular basis. As those infos are stored in the database it should be no problem to do that automatically from a command line script ran with task scheduler. The only things I'd like to know are: Which database fields are used to mark an episode as watched? Is it just "local_episodes\DateWatched" or anything else? Do I need to mark a whole season or serie as watched, too?

The resulting file should look like the one which is created when exporting watched flags from GUI for the easy of re-importing it. Anybody already done that?

Regards

You can indeed use MP-TVSeries config -> 'General' -> and then import or export the watched flags, but you have to constantly do that manually then. You might as well setup an automatic TaskScheduler event that simply backs up your database file, and retain multiple time-stamped versions (incase you notice corruption too late and backup would be corrupted as well).

An easier way however is to start using Trakt or Follw.it, it will sync your collection and watched flag info to the 'cloud' and will restore them if you ever loose them. It also works on multiple systems, so you can watch a show in livingroom and the bedroom system will update watched flag via the online sync (if both are setup with same account).
