hi there. i'm currnetly using my notebook as a thpc (more or less). So there's no chance for me to use an internal TV-card with DVB-S support.
As a matter of fact i didn't find anything about an SUPPORTED DVB-S USB or PCMCIA Card that will work fine with mediaportal. It's not just that i have to use my receiver, it's because my selfbuild beamer can be only connected to the notebook, not to the receiver )-;..

So If anybody is certain bout a working ext. DVB-S it would be highly appreciated..

So nobody has an idea? what about the pinnacle 400e usb?

I have a SkyStar2 USH DVB-S card, With the latest release of MediaPortal, I can connect to all the Satellite's transponders, but cannot get any of the channels.

    Still Working on it. ....

PS: My SkyStar works with other applications like MyTheatre.

any news? the FireDTV is far too expensive for me but that's the only DVB-S device (at least what concerns external devices like USB) definitly working with MP i found so far.
