external player on extended desktop (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I've been experimenting a bit with the new version of Mediaportal (v 1).

I have a HTPC with two videocards: one onboard (ATI3200) connected Through HDMI with my Panasonic plasmaTV. The other (ATI3600) is connected through component with my Epson Beamer. This works fine. The beamer is configured as extended desktop. I can drag a movie played with Mediaplayer classic from my TV to my beamer.
Now I configured Mediaportal to start with the ATI3600 card so it will automaticely start up on the beamer screen. Also this works fine but... when I start a movie with Mediaportal (I configured Mediaportal to use the external player Mediaplayer classic) it starts Mediaplayer Classic on the TV rather than on the beamer screen. Now I still need to have my TV on and drag the window to the extended desktop. What do I need to change in order to let Mediaportal start the external player on the same videocard?

I hope someone has an answer for this.

Thanks in advance,
Martin

This is more likely a question for a Mediaplayer Classic forum. Perhaps it takes start up monitor as an argument but I doubt there's much MediaPortal can do about it. May I ask what's the problem with MediaPortal's internal player?

I have a similar issue when launching the SNES emulator from MediaPortal and I use EventGhost to automatically move the SNES window on every start up. It has a Task Create plugin which monitors all programs being launched. When it finds the SNES window it will use the build in Move Window function to move it to the coordinates of my second desktop.

    Thanks for the reaction.

I kind of sorted it out. I now use KMplayer. This player "knows" on which desktop it had been used the last time. So it will start on the extended desktop if that is the place it has been shut down the last time. Mediaplayer Classic just opens on the normal desktop even though I used it the last time on the extended desktop.
I like to play all different kind of video sources, ie. HD files, iso's but also normal DVD structures and I found it difficult to run them all with the internal player.
