Hi all,

I'm using my (always-on) Linux-box as recording engine and fileserver for MediaPortal. So, my MP-Box has no "local" picture-, video- or music-files.
Driving MP in a client/server environment, I have a few questions :

1. ) I haven't found a reference for defining a directory for "My recordings". I just want to use MCE's "my recordings" button ... Where can I define the (network-) path to the directory? Maybe I can't cause I haven't installed a TV card?

2.) Watching recordings in timeshift mode.... . MP doesn't recognize changing the duration/file size. So, if i start a recording at 20.00h on my Linux-box, start watching at 20.20h in MP, viewing stops at 20.40h, although recording is still active .... . IS there any workaround? VLC is able to display mpeg2-file til end of recording... .

3.) Is there a "EPGviewonly" Plugin available? I just want to minimize startup time. Currently, I have to load the whole "my TV" module?

4.) at first time access to my videos, pictures, music, the screens get dark and MP is jumping back to main menu after a few seconds. Second access to modules works just fine. I've tried both ways to get network resources allocted to MP:
- net use x: \\server\share before MP-startup
- defining folders like \\server\share in MP-configuration
Both lead me up in a dark screen at first time access to folders.

... all other functions just work perfect , GREAT WORK!

Thx for your help
Hans

    Hi Hans,

    welcome to MP.

    1. The path to the recording folder is found in the configuration of the TV Card. So if you don't have a TV card, you don't have the recording path set. should be possible in mediaportal.xml tough. need to lookup the exact location, when at home tonight.

    2. haven't tried that myself. You're using MP in an unusual way.

    3. you seem to have a MCE remote, as by your remark in 1). If you press the EPG button, you should end up in the guide, without the tv module activated.

    4. Could you please post the log.

    best regards,

    Helmut
