I have an issue with some movies, because when they move from one folder to another on my QNAP, the modified timestamp doesn't change, only the changed timestamp.

I'm not overly familiar with unix stuff, but would it be possible to add the unix changed timestamp to the options that Moving Pictures uses to determine latest added movies?

Another alternative is that I have every movie in a separate folder, and whilst the actual movie file timestamp doesn't update with a move, the folder that is created is updated. Maybe Moving Pictures could use the parent folder timestamp?

Hope I have explained myself well!

Is this to reimport the movie and have it show up under recent added movies? Your question does not make sense for any other usage.

So what you can do is not rely on the date from file, but from system (via 'current') by Moving-Pictures config -> About -> Advanced Settings -> "Date Added" Population Method -> you can change this to created, modified or current. Be sure to click the 'Update' button after you change it or it will not be used.

Otherwise do a copy+delete action on the QNAP and modified timestamp will be the way you want it. Or explain more as to what you are after.

On Windows, whenever I added a movie, it changed the modified timestamp to the current date/time.
I now use a QNAP, and that doesn't alter the date or time on a rename or a file move, so adding a 2009 film, it remains as an old movie.

I know I can use 'current' but that will screw up the next time I do a reinstall of MP and reimport the movies - or am I misunderstanding?

Basically on the QNAP, when a movie is moved to the final destination (movies folder) the movie keeps the file creation date and the file modified date the same. The folder that it is moved to does update with the current timestamp though.

It may be a problem with the renaming software - maybe I can get that to do a post-process script to update the timestamp!

I'm muddling through this a little, as I am pretty new to the QNAP (all worked fine on Windows!)

I think I have found a way around this using a switch on the unrar :)

    Will test and see.
