I have a question about using large fonts in the “fadelabel” control. In my test environment, I looked at horizontal scrolling text in DWHD under MP 1.39 where font size 36 was used in “mypics” within a “fadelabel” control, and compared it to the same font size in “BasicHome” in the #infoservice.feed.titles property. I noticed that the scrolling text in the “fadelabel” control flickers and has brief glitches, while the scrolling text in the “infoservice” feed displays smoothly and without errors! From a programming perspective, is there a way to improve the display within a “fadelabel” control?

fadelabel is a single, unified component, and it renders the same way everywhere. Could the issue be that, in the places where glitches occur, something else is being rendered on top of or underneath the fadelabel? Or perhaps it’s part of a complex, multi-layered skin element? Or maybe there are other parameters involved?

In mypics, the scrolling text did indeed consist of several properties arranged one after the other:
    #currentmodule #scroll.wrap #pictures.folder #scroll.wrap #selecteditem

That's why I repeated the test with just one property - namely, #selecteditem - in the fadelabel control! Nevertheless, the initial display error persisted, while in BasicHome.rss.xml, the scrolling text in the fadelabel control was displayed correctly using the #infoservice.feed.titles property with the same font size! That's why I think there's another factor at play here!

It’s hard to tell what the problem is from the screenshot. I don’t see a problem.

The screenshot can't capture the error because it's static; it's just meant to show that the initial conditions are similar!
For a more detailed investigation, you'd probably have to take another look at the specific requirements in the DWHD skin!
All I can do here is attach the affected XML files. I've marked the modified controls as “modified file”!

I can’t help with that. I don’t have access to MediaPortal at the moment, and it’s highly unlikely that I’ll have electricity or any free time at home to run checks.

That's exactly the difference I'd like to know about! Why is there a difference in scrolling behavior, although both properties are embedded in a fadelabel control? And can we use this difference to improve the display of fadelabel controls with large fonts?

fwiw: i also regularly have flickering (when browsing youtube with all their weird characters and sometimes mixed in right-to-left text)
I'll investigate when i have some spare time again
